TEFA Homeschool / Other ($2,000)

A TEFA student who isn't enrolled at a participating private school (most often a homeschooler) receives $2,000 a year, all of it deposited on July 1.

Texas law treats a homeschool as a private school, and there is no registration step. TEFA adds a $2,000 account for homeschool families who are accepted.

This tier is where most San Antonio hybrid programs and co-ops fit. A program is paid from the account only if it is an approved vendor, so families should ask before they enroll.

If a homeschool family later enrolls at a participating school, the student moves to the $10,474 tier. A student who leaves a participating school for homeschool drops to $2,000.
