Archdiocese of San Antonio: Hope for the Future

Hope for the Future is the Archdiocese of San Antonio's tuition assistance fund for its Catholic schools. The Archdiocese says its funds are now reserved for families who don't receive TEFA.

The Archdiocese of San Antonio operates 35 Catholic campuses. Its recruitment office told Axios San Antonio in March 2026 that all of them participate in TEFA, serving about 9,000 students at an average 15-to-1 ratio.

The Archdiocese's TEFA page says Hope for the Future applications opened December 1, award notices come in the spring, and the fund is reserved for families who don't receive TEFA. It's the backstop for waitlisted Catholic school families.

Families with TEFA still benefit from parish and sibling rates, which the state's tuition guidelines require schools to keep applying. The Department of Catholic Schools takes questions at (210) 734-1659.
